Biography Professor LI Jiding received a BSc. Degree, a M.Sc. degree and Ph.D. in chemical engineering at Tsinghua University in 1982, in 1985 and in 1987 respectively. After graduated, he joined the department of chemical engineering at Tsinghua University. And then, he was promoted as a professor in 2001. From 1990 to 1993, he worked at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg (Germany) as a Postdoctoral research follow. His research interests cover membrane separation processes, theory of membrane transport and molecular design of polymer membranes. The current projects include: 1) fundamental research on the membrane separation mechanism and the membrane material prediction in pervaporation and vapor permeation processes; 2) molecular design of polymer membranes using molecular simulation and group contribution method; 3) fundamental research on pervaporation and vapor permeation based hybrid processes and the development of new process designs.
