Biography

Dr. Luo Guohua (Luo Guo-Hua) graduated with BS in 1985 from Tsinghua University of China, and received his MS in 1988 and Ph.D in Chemical Engineering in 1996 from Chinese Academy of Sciences. During 1996-2000, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Tsinghua University of China and Gunma University of Japan. Since June 2000, he has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering of Tsinghua University (FLOTU). His research interest covers from fundamental level by material design and lab-scale synthesis and evaluation, to potential industrial applications, especially on novel solid catalysts design and evaluation, gas-solid fluidized bed reactors for carbon nanotubes, DeNOx process of flue gas, production of fine chemicals, and green nano-gold@carbon (non-Hg) catalyst for PVC industry in China. He and co-workers have published over 90 peer-reviewed academic papers with total cited times over 2650 by Science Citation Index, and his H-index reached 30. Up to now, over 20 graduate students and post-doctoral fellows have worked with him. Together with other colleagues, he received three first prizes, from the Ministry of Education of China in 2005 in natural science and in 2012 in technology invention, from Chinese Union of Petroleum and Chemical Industry in 2015 in science and technology progress. He is in charge of lab-safety management and the undergraduate course of Fluidization Reaction Engineering. Over 30 graduate students and post-doctoral fellows have worked with him. Some publications in Luo’s group in the last 5 years are as followings.
